PostHeaderIcon Lemon As Remedy For Freckles

One of the most common skin problems in many people is having freckles. Even though it is not dangerous to one’s health, they take away a person’s full skin beauty. Freckles are small brownish spots on the skin that are caused by a pigment called melanin. This is a special cell, which gives the skin its color.

Exposure to the sun makes freckles darker and more abundant. During the winter months, they may gradually be less visible or disappear. Prone to freckles are fair-haired people who usually have them on their faces, necks, and shoulders.

Parents who have freckles may also pass it on to their children since it is a “genetic trait”. It will most likely appear in late childhood, become more striking during the teenage and young adult years, and fade naturally by the retirement age.

Freckles are harmless and not an indication of skin cancer. However, for those who find them bothersome and want to get rid of them, one common home remedy is lemon juice. Although most often used as a lightener for hair, lemon juice is proven to help lighten dark spots and freckles on the skin. To use it, squeeze lemon juice in a clean bowl. Dip a cotton ball in the freshly squeezed juice. Rub it on the affected area in a circular motion but avoid exposure to sunlight after application. If it itches, burns or stings, stop right away and rinse thoroughly. If needed, seek medication immediately.

Sunburn is bad for your skin, so should you use a moisturizer with sunscreen?

But the answer may not be quite what you thought it might be.

It’s totally clear though that sunburn is really bad for your skin.

If you want to guarantee older looking skin with all the symptoms of aging skin like dryness, sagging, wrinkles and more, just get a sunburned face regularly from an early age.

Not to mention skin cancer.

So doesn’t it make complete sense to use a moisturizer with an spf of 15 or even 30?

Well no, but that doesn’t mean that getting sunburned is fine.

Why isn’t it a good idea to use a moisturizer with an spf factor? Because there is evidence that the daily use of sunscreens can be dangerous to your health, and even some suggestion that daily use of an spf moisturizer could lead to cancer.

Now it certainly isn’t proven yet, but is suspected by many scientists. If, say, you use a sunscreen normally around 5 or 6 times a year then the risk is lower, but if you use a moisturizer then the chances are that you use it every day, so the risk is higher as you are using a sunscreen daily, and many days when you don’t need it.

Some people are under the mistaken assumption that the only time to use sunscreen is on especially hot and sunny days. The truth is that anytime that were out in the sun, the suns rays are having a negative impact on our skin. There is a constant barrage of ultraviolet light that can cause our skin to age before its time, and it can lead to more serious skin problems in the long term. Even on days when its not all that hot outside, it is a good idea to use sunscreen.

With that said, sunscreen is still most needed when a person is spending a day out in the sun, especially if theyre trying to tan. This is when there is the biggest risk of sunburn, which is a direct result of intense sun exposure. Its important to understand how to choose the right sunscreen for the job. SPF, or sun protection factor, is the rating system that is used to determine the strength of a sunscreen. Usually, a minimum sun protection factor of 15 is recommended for tanning or prolonged sun exposure. However, much more powerful levels of protection are available — up to a 60 SPF rating or more.
