PostHeaderIcon Look And Feel Your Best Each Day: Easy Grooming Tips For Men

Recently, the linguists started recognizing a new term to indicate a well-groomed man: The Metrosexual.

Although historically many manly men have shied away from good grooming out of fear of being viewed as “too fancy” or -let’s face it- from just plain slackness, it’s never been more straightforward or more suitable to look after yourself with good grooming. Take pride in your appearance, blokes – you are worthwhile, too!

Men who look good have a tendency to feel better, have more self-image, and others reply more definitely to them. If you want a boost in making sales, getting dates, or just feeling better, consider stepping up your self-care routine. Why not? Just don’t go mad shaving your eyebrows and there’s not much that will go wrong.

For many men, it does not take much additional effort to look their best. A good hair cut and a close shave goes a good distance. The occasional extras – like nose and ear hair trimming, eyebrow pruning, and skin moisturizing – are great additional steps that you can address as needed. Although you will not have ever considered going into one of those “salons” with all the pungent chemicals and gorgeous women, more and more men are snug getting their grooming needs taken care of (even MANicures) at such conglomerates. And – there are tons of pretty girls there, so you can enjoy the view while you are at it.

The biggest part of your grooming routine that you will be desiring to look after at home is shaving. Most men like to shave every day, but some men like the look of a little “stubble” and you can actually get special men’s shavers that leave a little grizzle on your chin so you may have an infinite day-old beard. What’s repulsive is heaps of hair on your neck and throat, so take care that you trim those areas constantly as an element of your shaving routine.

If you like a close shave, you’ll never get closer than with a razor, but many men prefer the comfort of a shaver, like Norelco’s mens shaver. The norelco shaver has three heads that painlessly cut your hair – they can get rid of long scraggly hairs as well as your beard from yesterday. The cordless norelco is easy to use at work or in the car and you don’t need to use shaving cream to get the job done. When your done, you can just rinse the whole thing in the sink. It’s not as close a shave, but for many men the comfort and convenience compensate for that nicely.

As far as eyebrow maintenance goes – did you know that women actually TRIM their eyebrows with little scissors? You can do it, too! Although eyebrow shaping is best left to the professionals (you don’t want to mess up something that prominent on your face), you can trim back the crazy “owl eyebrows” so they don’t look like they need mustache wax to hold their shape. You can also use tweezers to get rid of unwanted hairs – especially the hairs over the bridge of your nose that create a “unibrow” look. Now, the first time you tweeze out any eyebrow hair – it will sting like the dickens. Your eyes may even water – but you won’t cry because you’re a man! Just think – “If my wife can do this, so can I!” Your eyebrows are so close to your eyes that they are seen every day and are an important part of your facial expression, so make sure they look good!

Finally – nose and ear hair. When unsure, less is more. The hairs should stay Within your nose and ears. If hair is growing out your nostrils, or down your earlobes, shed it. There’s a norelco nose and ear hair trimmer that will do the job nicely.

Although it may not be something your Pop ever passed on to you, good grooming is a component of dressing for success. Just like a good shave, a pressed shirt, and polished shoes – taking care of your skin, your hair, and your hairs is all part of good grooming. Use these tips to freshen up your appearance and you may spot the difference the following time you are head to head with someone important.
